BI & Data Analytics Services in Saudi Arabia, Egypt & UAE

Most companies in Saudi Arabia, Egypt and the UAE already hold the data they need to run the business better. It is spread across the ERP, the hospital information system, point-of-sale terminals and a collection of spreadsheets. Business intelligence (BI) turns those scattered records into one trusted set of numbers and a few dashboards people actually open. Superior Business Solutions (SBS) delivers BI and data analytics services for finance teams, operations managers, SMEs and hospital groups across the three markets, from KPI design and data modelling to Arabic and English dashboards and the governance that keeps them reliable.

What our BI and data analytics service covers

  • KPI and dashboard design: workshops that agree definitions first (what counts as revenue, which date drives a receivable, when a claim counts as denied) so every report uses the same logic.
  • Power BI consulting: data models and DAX measures, row-level security so each branch or department sees only its own data, incremental refresh and deployment pipelines, plus licensing advice across Pro, Premium Per User and Microsoft Fabric capacity.
  • Odoo reporting and spreadsheets: pivot and graph views in every app, ready-made spreadsheet dashboards and, in Odoo Enterprise, editable spreadsheets linked to live data. For many SMEs this is enough before a separate BI tool is justified.
  • Zoho Analytics: dashboards on top of Zoho Books, Zoho CRM and other Zoho apps, blended with external sources where needed.
  • Data warehousing basics: staging, cleansing and a star schema of facts and dimensions in a SQL warehouse or a Fabric lakehouse, so history, multiple companies and multiple currencies reconcile.
  • Arabic RTL dashboards: right-to-left layouts, Arabic labels and number formats, bilingual page sets and Hijri date columns where reporting requires them.

KPI sets that matter

For ERP users we usually start with cash: daily cash position and a rolling cash forecast, receivables ageing and days sales outstanding, supplier payment timing, gross margin by product, branch and salesperson, budget versus actual, and inventory turns, stock ageing and dead stock. For hospitals and clinic groups, the core set covers bed occupancy and average length of stay, emergency department waiting times, operating theatre utilisation, laboratory and radiology turnaround times, appointment no-shows, claim denial rates by payer and reason, and days in accounts receivable. Each KPI gets an owner, a definition and a target before it gets a chart.

Saudi Arabia: analytics ready for ZATCA, NPHIES and the PDPL

Saudi finance teams need the ERP ledger, including VAT at 15%, to reconcile with what was actually cleared or reported through ZATCA's FATOORA platform, so we model e-invoice status alongside the accounting entries. Hospital dashboards track NPHIES claim responses by insurer and rejection reason, eligibility and prior-authorisation outcomes, and the quality indicators monitored for CBAHI accreditation. HR analytics often add Saudization ratios and Hijri-dated reporting. On governance, the Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL), supervised by the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA), treats health data as sensitive and allows transfers outside the Kingdom only under the conditions set in its regulations, while government entities also work to the data classification and data management standards of the National Data Management Office (NDMO). Those rules decide where the warehouse and the Power BI tenant are hosted, and who can see patient-level detail.

Egypt: ETA data, currency reality and Law 151/2020

Egyptian dashboards have to reconcile the ledger with ETA e-invoice and e-receipt submissions (valid, invalid, rejected and cancelled documents) and with VAT at 14%. Exchange-rate movements make multi-currency reporting essential, so we design models that show results in Egyptian pounds and in a reporting currency, using the rates finance actually booked. For healthcare providers, analytics may cover Universal Health Insurance claims in the governorates where the system has rolled out, and GAHAR accreditation indicators. Data protection is now concrete: the Executive Regulations of the Personal Data Protection Law (Law 151 of 2020) were issued in late 2025 by Ministerial Decree No. 816 of 2025, opening a one-year compliance window supervised by the Personal Data Protection Center, and the law's obligations should now be treated as in force. It classes health and financial data as sensitive and restricts cross-border transfers, so we check whether a cloud BI service hosted outside Egypt needs a licence or a de-identified data design.

UAE: multi-entity groups, health data localisation and the PDPL

UAE groups typically need consolidated views across mainland and free-zone entities, 5% VAT and Corporate Tax reporting, and, as Peppol-based e-invoicing phases in from 2026, one more data flow to reconcile. Healthcare analytics revolve around claims: remittance data from DHA's eClaimLink and DoH's Shafafiya feeds denial analysis by payer, code and clinician, which is the core of revenue cycle improvement in the UAE. Data rules differ from the other two markets. The ICT in Health Fields law (Federal Law No. 2 of 2019) generally requires health data to be stored and processed inside the UAE, with limited exceptions; Abu Dhabi providers also work to the DoH's ADHICS standard; the federal PDPL (Decree-Law 45/2021) covers personal data more broadly, and the DIFC and ADGM free zones run their own regimes. Patient-level health analytics therefore stay on UAE-hosted infrastructure.

How SBS delivers BI projects

  1. Discovery: agree decisions, KPIs and owners; inventory the data sources (Odoo, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Zoho, HIS, LIS, RIS, POS and Excel) and assess their quality.
  2. Architecture: choose the platform and hosting location against your licences, skills and data rules, including whether a cloud migration or an on-premises option such as Power BI Report Server is the better route.
  3. Build: data pipelines, warehouse, semantic model and a first release of dashboards, validated line by line against finance and clinical reports.
  4. Governance: row-level security, access reviews, an Arabic and English data dictionary, refresh monitoring and an audit trail.
  5. Adoption and support: role-based training, a managed request backlog and ongoing support from a dedicated SBS team.

With more than 14 years of ERP and healthcare IT delivery in the region, our Power BI consultants and ERP specialists design reports around how your organisation already closes the month or runs a ward, not around a generic template.

What drives the cost of a BI project

  • The number and condition of data sources, and how much history must be cleansed and loaded.
  • Refresh frequency: a daily refresh is far simpler than near-real-time operational dashboards.
  • Licensing: per-user or capacity licensing for Power BI, your Odoo edition and your Zoho plan.
  • Hosting and governance requirements, including in-country hosting, de-identification and audit.
  • Bilingual scope: a properly mirrored Arabic page set is real design work, not a translation pass.
  • The number of dashboards and user roles, and the training and support model after go-live.

How to choose a BI partner and platform

  • Ask to see KPI definitions and a data model, not just attractive screenshots.
  • Check that dashboards reconcile to your trial balance or claims ledger to the last riyal, pound or dirham.
  • Confirm where data will be hosted and how that satisfies the Saudi PDPL, Egypt's Law 151/2020 or UAE health data rules.
  • Test the Arabic: right-to-left layout, fonts and numerals, Hijri dates and exported PDFs.
  • Prefer the tool that fits your existing stack (Odoo reporting, Zoho Analytics or Power BI) before buying new licences.
  • Agree who owns the data model after go-live and how changes are requested.

Frequently asked questions

How much do BI and data analytics services cost in Saudi Arabia, Egypt or the UAE?

Cost depends on the number and quality of data sources, refresh frequency, the licensing model, hosting and governance requirements, and how many Arabic and English dashboards you need. SBS runs a short discovery first and then quotes the work in defined phases, so you do not pay for a full warehouse before the first dashboards prove their value.

Which is better for an SME: Power BI, Zoho Analytics or Odoo reporting?

If you already run Odoo, its pivot views and spreadsheet dashboards are often enough to start. Zoho Analytics suits companies whose data mostly lives in Zoho apps, and Power BI is the stronger choice when you need to combine several systems with enterprise-grade security and governance.

Can Power BI dashboards be built fully in Arabic?

Yes, but it takes deliberate design. Power BI renders Arabic text, yet it does not automatically mirror report layouts right to left, so visual order, axes, number formats and Hijri date columns have to be designed for Arabic users, often as a separate page set.

Can hospital data be analysed in a cloud BI service?

It depends on the market: in the UAE, Federal Law No. 2 of 2019 generally requires health data to stay in the country, while Saudi Arabia's PDPL and Egypt's Law 151 of 2020 class health data as sensitive and restrict cross-border transfers. SBS designs the hosting location and the level of de-identification to fit those rules.

How long does a BI implementation take?

A focused first release on one well-structured source such as Odoo or Microsoft Dynamics 365 can typically be delivered in weeks. Programmes that combine ERP, HIS and claims data take longer and are delivered in phases, each ending with dashboards that reconcile to your own reports.

What KPIs should a hospital track in its dashboards?

Common starting points are bed occupancy, average length of stay, emergency waiting times, theatre utilisation, laboratory and radiology turnaround times, no-show rates, claim denial rates by payer and reason, and days in accounts receivable. Each KPI needs an agreed definition and an owner before it is charted.
